Bug Fixes:

• Significantly improved spam catch rate for foreign languages.
• Vircom’s Sender Reputation Service (SRS) is no longer available in modusMail and has been removed from the application and interfaces. It has been replaced by a superior engine with its own reputation system to push pure performance to maximum degrees (99.9% catch rates and almost no false positives).
• Fixed a problem where installing modusMail was adding an unnecessary webquarantine folder.
• Fixed a problem when customer could not login to WebMail as they were getting an “unhandled error”.
• Fixed a problem where Outlook was showing an invalid date for email that had long received headers
• Fixed a problem where a ZIP file was wrongly identified as a mpg/mp3 file.
• In WebMonitor, fixed a bug where it was impossible to download the Adobe SVG plug-in from the Vircom site
• Fixed a problem where modusMail AS was wrongly displaying the Virus tab in WebAdmin
• Improved directQuarantine authentication mechanism

Operational Considerations:

Although the trade off will benefit the vast majority of customers, the “moduscan” service in ModusGate uses 38% more CPU than the previous versions of the scanning engine with no significant increase in disk I/O. This should only affect customers whose servers are already near maximum capacity and Vircom is committed to optimize this for the next release.
